Design Specs

All Images embedded or linked to the AI and ID as CMYK should be minimum of 400 dpi. Preferable resolution is 600 dpi.

Higher resolutions will result in a big file size.

• We print only CMYK+W. All RGB images will be automatically converted to CMYK which will cause color changes.
• Greyscale or black & white images (halftones) should be saved as grayscale with a minimum of 600ppi. Preferable resolution is 1200 dpi.
• Downloaded web graphics are generally 72 dpi or 96 dpi and are not usable for printing.

To prevent any delay in processing the file, please provide the following:

• All PostScript and TrueType fonts used in files. If the fonts cannot be provided outline them (convert to curve).
• Prepare artwork in full composite color using either PMS (Pantone Matching Systems) or CMYK (process) color systems.
• Print registration tolerance is 1/200 inches (0.125 mm), so please be aware that smaller objects and line arts with multi-color output will be blurry.
• Positive typeset size should not be less than 4 pt. (Helvetica style), and lines should not be less than 1/3 pt. (0.005”). Reverse typeset size should not be less than 4 pt.
  (Helvetica style), and lines should not be less than 1/2 pt. (0.007”) minimum. Note that – small types with Serifs or decorative fonts (with tiny parts and lines) cannot be printed properly.
• To have an approximate preview of how the details of the types and lines will look like after printing, simply select all the design and convert it to 600 dpi image and preview.
• If you have used complex objects and effects (mesh, lens, color filter, particle object…) convert as a background image with 600 dpi CMYK to prevent delays and loss of objects and effects during processing.

• By production standards, the die-cutting process has a tolerance of 1/100 inches (0.25mm). Therefore, the artwork needs a bleed and a safe zone.

Bleed – allows your labels to be cut with clean edges, the artworks elements/backgrounds should extend out 1/16” (1.5mm) passed the die line on each side of the label to allow proper die-cutting tolerance.

White Support is an extra opaque white ink printed behind CMYK as a base color. As CMYK inks are transparent, the effect without White Support will be transparent for clear labels, metallic for Silver/Gold labels, and holographic for Holographic labels. So, for Clear, Silver/Gold and Holographic labels White Support is required.  White ink will block the stock material effect and will give the same feeling as printed on white stock.

Gloss Spot UV Varnish or Spot UV is a finishing capability on an already printed label. It is a clear glossy coating applied to certain area/s as you wish. This is a design technique to use in a creative way to make those areas stand out and enhance the printed design. This will give a stylish and unique twist on the label, leaving customers with a great impression on the label product.

We cannot guarantee barcode readability if the following guidelines are not followed:

• For best readability results, barcodes should not be scaled/skewed to the critical small size. Of course, the bigger the size, the better they will be read/scanned.
• Barcodes must have at least 1/8” white space on all sides.
• The barcode should be printed in black on white background. Make sure that the barcode color is one channel Black (c0, m0, y0, k100).
• Per your request, we can generate the barcodes and verify they scan properly.

• We can print a wide range of variable data labels integrated with your design.
• Please, specify details of static and variable fields of the data on the label.
• For the data, you can use the Microsoft Excel file to submit.
• Specify data direction, roll sequences, and roll counts.

Our inks pigments allow us to have a very wide range of color output for spot colors.
The PMS colors we reproduce covers 96% of the Pantone Coated Color range. We recommend requesting a Production Proof (physical sample) to make sure that the colors match to your expectations.
